چکیده
Background and Aim: Staphylococcus aureus pseudintermedius are widespread skin mucous membrane colonizers may cause opportunistic infections in humans animals. This study aimed to identify characterize methicillin-resistant S. (MRSA) (MRSP) isolates from domestic stray dogs cats pet owners Malaysia using molecular epidemiology antimicrobial profiling. Materials Methods: Three hundred fifty oral nasal swabs were taken owners; all samples subjected culture biochemical tests polymerase chain reaction; the selected put through disk diffusion test multilocus sequence typing. Results: One isolate three identified as MRSA MRSP, respectively, of which one MRSP showed multidrug resistance remaining two resistant or antimicrobials. Multilocus typing that belongs clonal complex (CC) 789, while for isolates, CC45 was a singleton. Conclusion: is first perform characterization isolated owners. The outcomes this reveal even healthy their can be carriers drug-resistant staphylococci, highlighting role pets Malaysia. Keywords: resistance, susceptibility testing, methicillin typing, public health, zoonotic infections.

Inducible clindamycin-resistance in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates from dogs and cats.
Inducible clindamycin resistance in Staphylococcus aureus is of great concern owing to its frequent association with false sensitivity in antibiogram and treatment failure. One hundred and two clinical isolates of Methicillin resistant S. aureus (MRSA) were identified by oxacillin, cefoxitin disc diffusion and oxacillin agar dilution method. Antibiotic susceptibility to erythromycin and clindam...
متن کاملPrevalence of Vancomycin Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
Background & Aims: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Vancomycin is the most important therapeutic drug of choice for treatment of infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Therefore, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA) strains are warning...

The first of these articles reviews the epidemiology of MRSA and its clinical importance in a healthcare setting. The methods of controlling the spread of hospital acquired MRSA are discussed with an emphasis on the role of screening staff for MRSA. Relevant papers for the review were identified by a systematic literature search on Medline. The prevalence of MRSA is increasing in the United Kin...

Staphylococci are important opportunistic pathogens in most animal species. Among the most relevant species are the coagulase positive species Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus pseudintermedius. Methicillin resistance has emerged as an important problem in both of these organisms, with significant concerns about animal and public health. The relative importance of these staphylococci on ...

During the last years, antimicrobial resistance has become one of the greatest challenges in clinical settings. Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus are important nosocomial pathogens worldwide. In different corners of the world, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) have been isolated from various sources including different foods of an...
